IDSA/HIVMA Educational Self-Assessment Products

Welcome to the IDSA/HIVMA Maintenance of Certification Self-Assessment Modules, the new IDSA Practice Exam and the Infections in Older Adults Course.

MOC MODULES

The MOC modules consist of 25 multiple-choice questions. These modules are reviewed and updated annually, as needed. The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) will accept all modules for credit toward ABIM's Maintenance of Certification (MOC). Physicians enrolled in Maintenance of Certification will receive 10 medical knowledge self-assessment points for successfully completing each 25- question module.

Target Audience

The MOC modules are intended for physicians seeking recertification in Infectious Diseases and/or individuals seeking an assessment and review of infectious diseases.

Credit Designation Statement

IDSA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians. IDSA designates this enduring material (module) for a maximum 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits.™
Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

PRACTICE EXAM

The IDSA Practice Exam is a timed exam, containing 50 case-based multiple-choice questions, and designed to provide an opportunity to prepare for the ID Board Exam, in addition to a general review of infectious diseases topics. The time allotted is one hour and forty minutes. Upon completion of the exam, a score, along with a report containing learning objectives of items answered incorrectly, will be provided. The exam has been created in cooperation with the National Board of Medical Examiners.

INFECTIONS IN OLDER ADULTS COURSE

This free course is designed for fellows and is based on the IDWeek 2012 fellows' program held in San Diego, CA, October 2012.

The Practice Exam and Infections in Older Adults course are not approved for MOC or CME credit.
